Republic of Korea – Czech Republic Aerospace Cooperation Forum
On 9–10 April 2025, the Korea–Czech Aerospace Cooperation Forum was successfully held in Seoul and Daejeon, hosted by the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA), the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul, and the Czech Ministry of Transport, with the Korea Association for Space Technology Promotion (KASP) as organiser.
The forum brought together 10 Czech space institutions and companies and 14 Korean organisations, including government bodies, research institutions, and aerospace enterprises.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Kyung-won Roh, Deputy Administrator of KASA, highlighted the importance of the event, stating:
“Aerospace is no longer just a field of exploration and curiosity—it is a strategic sector that underpins the future of humanity. We hope this exchange further solidifies our two countries’ cooperation.”
The first day of the forum featured a technology exchange seminar, where both sides presented capabilities in satellite development, launch vehicle technology, and image processing solutions. A business matchmaking session followed, fostering discussions on commercial and technological partnerships. The second day focused on a Director-General-level policy dialogue, addressing MoU preparations, expanding personnel exchanges, and facilitating a reciprocal Czech business visit to Korea. The Czech delegation also toured five key Korean aerospace institutions: KARI, LIG Nex1, Satrec Initiative, TelePIX, and Nara Space Technology, gaining insight into Korea’s current advancements and potential areas for cooperation.
This event marks a significant step forward in building a robust Korea–Czech space partnership through technical dialogue, industrial collaboration, and sustained international engagement. |
